Five Fabulous Cotswolds Wedding Venues

by | Oct 27, 2021 | Weddings

I am incredibly lucky to live on the edge of the Cotswolds. It is so beautiful and has a huge amount to offer. Visit Britain describes it as ‘picture postcard England at its most enchanting.’ Fabulous countryside, rolling hills, chocolate box villages, quaint pubs, and the list goes on.

Celebrant Ceremonies in the Cotswolds

Without doubt there are also some fantastic wedding venues situated within the Cotswolds that I have been lucky enough to visit over the last twelve months. I am in fact officiating at all five of these venues in 2022/23 for the couples who have chosen to book with me.

Caswell House

Dating back to the 15th Century this is, without doubt, a venue steeped in much history. The estate was once part of Caswell; a deserted medieval settlement. Over the centuries the buildings have been updated and preserved to their current state.

It is now a renowned Cotswold wedding venue, a super special place to create the most beautiful memories for your wedding day. As they state on their website, their dedicated wedding team will work with you in the run-up, and on the day to ensure that you have the wedding of your dreams. The ceremony space is exceptionally beautiful and lends itself beautifully to a Celebrant led ceremony.

Foxhill Manor

As you drive down the sweeping driveway to Foxhill Manor it really feels like you are leaving the world behind and stepping into a 400-acre playground. Part of the Farncombe Estate, Foxhill Manor is a Grade II private Manor House and has been a beloved wedding venue for over four decades.

This private five-star hotel is situated in the heart of the Cotswolds and overlooks Broadway. This is, without doubt, an extremely elegant wedding venue boasting the most beautiful orangery style ballroom which is perfect for a sophisticated wedding ceremony.

Inside Hyde House, a Cotswolds wedding venue

Hyde House

Situated just outside the picturesque town of Stow-on-the-Wold, Hyde House is a stunning Victorian house and barns in the heart of the Cotswolds. The house provides ideal accommodation for you and your guests, with 12 bedrooms, a bar and a lounge.

As they describe it, think of it as your own private country house. Hyde House offers two stunning ceremony spaces, ‘The Grange’ which is bright and airy with rustic oak beams and lots of natural light, this space can accommodate up to 150 guests.

If the English weather is playing game then you can also hold your ceremony under their oak arbour, overlooking acres of glorious fields. As with all Celebrant-led ceremonies there are no restrictions on where you can hold your ceremony. They are a small but mighty wedding team at Hyde House with a brilliant can-do attitude to ensure your day is just perfect.

Oxleaze Barn

This is a real treat of a wedding venue. Situated on the Oxfordshire/Gloucestershire borders Oxleaze is a family-run organic farm and dates back to 1702. They have without doubt created a home-from-home feeling and as they describe on their website, you are stepping into a ‘Cotswold haven.’ The venue has received a considerable renovation over the years and they have without doubt created the most glorious wedding venue situated within the farm.

They are big fans of a Celebrant-led ceremony, so much so Faye who is the Head of Oxleaze Barn is also a fabulous Celebrant. An exceptional wedding venue which offers so much flexibility in terms of ceremony spaces, immaculate accommodation and wonderful finishing touches such as a ride for the wedding party on ‘Bassey’, a retired farm tractor! What is there not to like?

Tara the Celebrant at Cotswolds wedding venue, Whatley Manor

Whatley Manor

Last but not least is the very fabulous Whatley Manor. I was not only lucky enough to get married at Whatley, but I am also an approved supplier of the hotel. This is without doubt the perfect setting for your quintessential country wedding.

Located on the edge of the Cotswolds, Whatley Manor is the most stunning country manor house set in 12 acres of gardens. It has so much to offer in terms of weddings to include intimate weddings right through to exclusive use of the whole house.

Everything that they do at Whatley Manor is done with the highest amount of care and precision, and you really do get that feeling as soon as you step across the threshold. They also boast a Two Star Michelin starred restaurant which is run under the direction of Executive Chef Niall Keating. If you decide to book your Cotswold wedding at Whatley Manor then you are in for a super special treat.
